Green International University (GIU) organized VIRSA 2026, a vibrant cultural event celebrating Pakistan’s diverse traditions, regional identities, and shared heritage, while embracing the cultural diversity of its international student community. The event brought together students from different backgrounds to showcase the beauty of their cultures and promote unity, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging within the GIU family. The celebration featured the rich traditions of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Pashtun and Saraiki communities, alongside the distinctive cultural heritage of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. International students also contributed to the festivities by presenting their unique cultural identities, making VIRSA 2026 a platform for intercultural understanding and meaningful cultural exchange.
Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan, Rector of Green International University, delivered the welcome address, appreciating the richness and significance of the cultures represented at the event. He emphasized that despite differences in languages, customs, traditions, and regional identities, the people of Pakistan share a common national identity that unites them.
He further highlighted the importance of cultural awareness, mutual respect, and harmony among students, encouraging them to appreciate diversity as a source of strength and unity. Accompanied by the Executive Director Operations, Executive Director Academics & Institutional Performance, Deans, and Directors, the Rector visited the cultural stalls prepared by students. The stalls showcased traditional attire, regional customs, cultural artifacts, and the distinctive heritage of different communities.
Students enthusiastically presented briefings on their respective cultures, explaining the significance of their traditions and highlighting the unique characteristics that define their identities. These interactive presentations created valuable opportunities for learning, dialogue, and appreciation of the cultural richness represented within the university. Through colorful cultural displays, traditional costumes, themed stalls, and active student participation, VIRSA 2026 reflected Green International University's commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming academic environment. The event encouraged students to celebrate their roots while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of other cultures.
VIRSA 2026 was more than a cultural celebration; it was a reflection of the values of unity, diversity, respect, and shared identity that strengthen the GIU community. Green International University continues to provide opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom, celebrate cultural diversity, and build lasting connections that contribute to a more inclusive and harmonious society.
