Madinah Foundation is a charitable organization founded by Haji Muhammad Saleem (Late). It was created with the vision of “Industry, Service, Education.” The foundation works to support humanity, especially in health, education and other community services.

We feel proud that the Government of Punjab appreciated our mission of promoting quality education and spreading knowledge for a better world. As a result, the government granted Madinah Foundation the charter to establish Green International University in Lahore on 4th June 2020.

Green International University is focused on providing quality education, research and innovation in today’s fast-changing, knowledge-based economy. The university aims to follow strong academic and research standards that match its vision and mission. We are committed to offering students global learning opportunities through international collaborations.

Our aim is to prepare and empower the youth of Pakistan for bright professional careers. We want to help students build confidence, face global challenges and play an active role in the social and economic development of Pakistan.

In his presidential address at the Punjab Muslim Students Federation conference on March 2, 1941, he said that education brings the light of knowledge and economic and industrial strength makes a nation strong. I would like to extend my best wishes to the newly established “Green International University” under the charter awarded by Government of the Punjab. It clearly reflects the commitment of our Government to promote and support the higher educated sector for providing quality education and innovative research to prepare the youth for futuristic challenges.

No doubt, GIU can play a productive, positive and leading role in drawing fruitful action plans, approaching right course of action to achieve targets, promoting research and development environment through its vision to prepare the graduates with professional knowledge, cutting-edge skills and ethics maintaining all standards.

Green International University is committed to provide quality education and research. We belive in adopting to todays dynamic envoirment, and facing new post-pandemic challenge/ opportunities. As Chairman, BoG, I will endeavor to ensure that the university adapts such strategies through which it may lead towards the excellence in academic and research pursuits as per its vision and mission. Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan

Rector, Green International University

Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan is a distinguished academic leader, visionary administrator, and accomplished scholar with more than three decades of excellence in higher education, research, and institutional development. He has made remarkable contributions to Pakistan’s academic landscape through his dynamic roles at the University of the Punjab, where he served as member Syndicate, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, and Principal of both Hailey College of Commerce and Hailey College of Banking & Finance.

He earned his Ph.D. in International Marketing with Distinction from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria. He is also an adjunct faculty there. His academic expertise spans international marketing, halal marketing, consumer behaviour, organizational leadership, and higher education management, making him one of the most respected figures in the academic and research community.

As a transformative leader, he has successfully launched innovative academic programs, cultivated a strong research culture, and established international collaborations that have elevated institutional standards. He is also the Founder Chief Editor of the International Journal of Business Reflections (IJBR) and serves as Country Chair of the Global Islamic Marketing Conference (GIMAC), reflecting his global engagement and thought leadership.

During his impactful tenure at the University of the Punjab, he spearheaded the development of Ph.D. and M.Phil. programs, initiated the construction of modern academic and research blocks, and organized prestigious international conferences connecting scholars, researchers, and industry leaders from around the world.

He has participated in various high impact conferences as research presenter, session chair and keynote speaker. He is on the boards of various universities as an expert member.

His research has been published in high-impact international journals, including the International Marketing Review, Service Industries Journal, Journal of Professional Capital and Community, and Journal of Nursing Management. His scholarly work has earned him multiple international awards, such as the Emerald Literati Outstanding Paper Award (2017) and the Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award (2011).

Prof. Dr. Mubbsher Munawar Khan embodies the essence of academic excellence, visionary leadership, and global perspective. Through his unwavering commitment to quality education, impactful research, and institutional advancement, he continues to inspire the next generation of scholars and leaders in Pakistan and beyond.

About Our Region

Lahore lies 811 miles (1305km) northeast of Karachi in the upper Indus plain on the Ravi River, a tributary of the Indus River, which flows on the northern side of Lahore.
