Strengthening Clinical Expertise: GIU Hosts a Full Day of Specialized Ultrasound Workshops
As part of the World Radiology Day celebrations, the Department of Radiology at Green International University organized a highly focused and skill-enhancing full-day series of specialized ultrasound workshops. Designed to elevate students’ diagnostic competence and hands-on clinical proficiency, the event brought together expert trainers and enthusiastic participants for an immersive learning experience.
The day opened with an in-depth workshop conducted by Dr. Raham Bacha on “Flow Dynamics and Vascular Mapping of the Lower Limb.” Students engaged in practical learning on Doppler principles, vascular scanning protocols, and lower-limb flow assessment techniques. This workshop awarded 2 CME Credit Hours, recognizing the academic value of the training.
The second session featured Dr. Syeda Khadija-Tul-Sughra Murium, who delivered a high-precision workshop on “Sonographic Evaluation of Knee Ligaments, Tendons, and Meniscal Margins.” Her session enhanced students’ understanding of musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound, offering detailed insights into knee joint structures and dynamic imaging techniques. Participants received 2 CME Credits for this specialized training.
The final workshop of the day was led by Dr. M. Uzair, who conducted an advanced session titled “Decoding Liver Ultrasonography: Lobar and Segmental Division for Clinical Practice.” Through hands-on demonstrations, students strengthened their knowledge of liver anatomy, segmental mapping, and clinical sonographic interpretation. This session also carried 2 CME Credits.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Yousaf Gilani, Head of the Department of Radiology, expressed his appreciation to the trainers for their dedicated efforts and acknowledged the active participation and enthusiasm of the students. All participants received certificates, and commemorative shields were presented to the trainers in recognition of their valuable contributions.
The event ended on a note of accomplishment and professional growth, marking another milestone in GIU’s ongoing commitment to excellence in radiological education and advanced clinical training.
