Mental Health & Community Outreach Initiative

In alignment with the university’s commitment to social responsibility, inclusive development, and real-world impact, the Serenity Support Center, under the leadership of Dr. Naila Jamil (Head, Department of Psychology), conducted a structured mental health and community engagement session at a local government school. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with psychology students as part of experiential and community-based learning.

The outreach program focused on early mental health intervention, emotional well-being, and resilience-building among school children. Through interactive discussions, participatory activities, and age-appropriate coping strategies, students were encouraged to recognize emotions, develop healthy responses to stress, and build foundational psychological resilience.

This initiative provided university students with a meaningful opportunity to translate academic and psychological knowledge into practical application within an underserved educational setting. By addressing mental health challenges at the grassroots level, the program demonstrated effective knowledge transfer beyond the campus, transforming theoretical learning into tangible social impact.

Engagement with a marginalized population strengthened university–community linkages, enhanced public awareness of mental health, and contributed to positive behavioral and emotional development among young learners. The activity reflects the university’s dedication to ethical responsibility, social innovation, and human development.

Through sustained community-based interventions led by the Serenity Support Center, the university continues to advance its mission of creating inclusive, impact-driven solutions—key dimensions recognized in global impact-oriented university evaluations and rankings.
