𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Green International University marked International Labour Day with exciting activities hosted by Office of Student Affairs on campus. The celebration, orchestrated by the Debating and Literary Society and the Fine Arts Society, brought together students and faculty in a vibrant showcase of talent and discourse.
The day kicked off with a speech competition organized by the Debating and Literary Society, chaired by Mr. Syed Urooj Zafar, the Chairperson Department of Film & TV (IAC), along with Dr. Moeen Ahmad Ch Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (GIU) & Ms. Taha Sahar. The event featuring speeches from students who enthusiastically expressed their views on issues of Pakistani labour community.
Moreover, in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the Fine Arts Society also organized a poster competition chaired by Dr. Asim Manzoor, Chairperson Department of Mass Communication (IAC) along with Dr. Nida Amin Chairperson Department of Optometry (GIU). Poster competition showed participation from budding artists at the university, profoundly merging artistic creativity with social themes, reflecting on the significance of labour rights and contributions.
Rector GIU Prof. Dr. Syed Amir Gilani, the chief guest of the event, expressed his profound gratitude to the judges evaluating the competition. The special guest of honor, Muhammad Afzal, lauded the students for their thoughtful expressions and contributions to the important discourse surrounding labour rights and distributed shields & prizes among the winning students.
In Speech Competition first position was secured by M. Abdullah Tipu from Pharmacy Department, second position by Hamza Ch from Department of Physio Therapy and third position was secured by Muneer Ahmad from Department of Law.
In Poster Competition Atiqa Shahid secured first position from Department of Physio Therapy, second position was secured by Ramsha Zafar from Department of Pharmacy and third position was secured by Musfira Azeem Department of Pharmacy.
Sovinour were also presented to the esteemed external judges of the competition as a token of thanks for giving their precious time while evaluating and encouraging the students of Green International University.
Office of Student Affairs played a pivotal role in the day's events, facilitating an environment where art and advocacy intersect. The celebrations were not only a testament to the students' talents but also a reflection of Green International University's commitment towards fostering an inclusive and thoughtful academic community.
