GIU Interdepartmental Qiraat, Naat & Azan Competition: Showcasing Talent and Unity

The GIU Qirat & Melaad Society successfully organized an Interdepartmental Qiraat, Naat, and Azan Competition, an event designed to foster camaraderie, showcase talent, and celebrate cultural expression across diverse academic disciplines.

The competition was judged by Dr. Syed Haroon Bukhari from the University of Gujrat, a renowned scholar in Islamic Studies and Quranic recitation, and Miss Hafiza Sania, Lecturer at Govt. Fatima Jinnah College, Lahore, and in-charge of the College Melaad Committee, recognized for her expertise in Naat Khuwani and Qiraat. The judges demonstrated full dedication, ensuring fair and accurate results.

Winners of the Qiraat Category:

  • 1st: Hafiz Safi ur Rehman (Law Dept)

  • 2nd: Ezaan Saadi (MBBS)

  • 3rd: Zainub Fatima (MBBS)

Winners of the Azan Category:

  • 1st: Muhammad Hassan (Islamic Studies Dept)

  • 2nd: Muhammad Awias (Islamic Studies Dept)

  • 3rd: Mohsin Hassan (Islamic Studies Dept)

Winners of the Naat Category:

  • 1st: Faisal Sabeel (Islamic Studies Dept)

  • 2nd: Hafiz Asim (Islamic Studies Dept)

  • 3rd: Aqsa Ikram (Nursing Dept)

Winners were awarded cash prizes, shields, and certificates, while all participants received certificates of appreciation to encourage their potential and talent.

The esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Syed Amir Gilani, Rector of GIU, graced the event with his presence, adding prestige and honor. His knowledge and leadership exemplify the university’s commitment to scholarly pursuit and academic excellence. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Mohsin Ali Cheema (Patron Societies), Dr. Nawaz Anjum, and Ms. Anam Fazal (Advisor QMS).
