Objectives

  • To provide advanced knowledge and practical skills in the assessment and management of acute and chronic pain. 
  • To train healthcare professionals in multidisciplinary pain management strategies, including pharmacological, interventional, psychological, and rehabilitative approaches. 
  • To prepare professionals capable of working in pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, and clinical settings under expert supervision. 
  • To develop a holistic understanding of patient-centered care in pain management.

Role and Scope

Graduates of the PGD in Pain Management can: 

  • Work as pain management specialists in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers 
  • Support anaesthesiologists, physiotherapists, and pain consultants in pain treatment plans 
  • Manage chronic pain cases such as arthritis, cancer pain, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain 
  • Be involved in patient counseling, education, and non-pharmacological pain relief techniques 
  • Pursue advanced qualifications and specialization in pain sciences
