BS Audiology
Objectives
- Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system.
- Equip students with skills in diagnosing and managing hearing loss and balance disorders through audiometric testing and rehabilitation techniques.
- Train students in the fitting and maintenance of hearing aids and other assistive listening devices.
- Foster research skills to contribute to advancements in audiological assessment and intervention techniques.
Role and Scope
- Audiologists play a critical role in assessing and managing hearing and balance disorders across the lifespan.
- They work in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, schools, and research institutions, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to individuals with hearing impairments.
- Graduates can pursue careers as Audiologists in both clinical and academic settings.
- With the increasing prevalence of hearing loss and advancements in technology, there is a growing demand for audiologists to provide early intervention and rehabilitation services.
- Opportunities for specialization exist in areas such as pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, and industrial audiology.
