Green International University Lahore is strongly committed to advancing SDG 6 by ensuring responsible water management, sustainable usage, and safe sanitation practices across its campus and surrounding communities. The University has an established waste water treatment process that prevents polluted or contaminated water, including water affected by accidents or incidents, from entering natural water systems. GIU provides free, safe drinking water to all students through conveniently placed water fountains, while implementing building standards designed to minimize water consumption. Guided by its Water Reuse and Conservation Policy, the University works to maximize water reuse across campus and actively measures progress to ensure continuous enhancement of water efficiency.

Glimpses of Sustainability Efforts – 2024

Beyond its internal systems, GIU offers educational opportunities for local communities to learn about effective water management, responsible water conservation, and sustainable water extraction. The University will actively support off-campus water conservation initiatives and will collaborate with local, regional, national, and global governmental bodies to contribute to long-term water security. Through future awareness campaigns and capacity-building activities, Green International University Lahore will promote conscious water usage both on campus and within the wider community, reinforcing its continued commitment to ensuring clean water and sanitation for all.
